Therefore, the Illuminati are wholly opposed to any religions that seek to alienate humanity from God and to create a master-slave relationship in which enslaved humans, on their knees, worship a tyrannical slave-master God who must be obeyed no matter what, even if he demands of people that they commit supremely horrific and evil deeds.

They can be defeated by nothing more strenuous than pulling back the curtain.

The corruption of the Illuminati was orchestrated by the belief in unworthiness; the belief in separation. The members became polarized against those whose beliefs differed from theirs. They began to feel they must protect themselves from others. The whole concept that something outside yourself can destroy your well-being is one of the cornerstones of guilt.  

The present-day Illuminati is a tangible, though largely unconscious, outpicturing of the guilt held in the minds and hearts of each individual in the world. If you look at history, you will see a thread running through every significant era — the rising and falling of civilizations. There have been many civilizations that have risen to a pinnacle of achievement, only to be brought down by corruption and greed. The present civilization is once again at the pinnacle and is just as surely falling prey to corruption and greed as the dozen or so civilizations that preceded it. The Illuminati is the reflection of guilt within the mass consciousness of the people of Earth. Every time the people have risen up, they have been crushed by the “powers that be.” Every time the powers that be have appeared to come into balance with the people, guilt has entered unconsciously and eroded the fabric of society. This was true in Pan, Lemuria and Atlantis, and it is true today.  

One of the basic principles of guilt is that one does not deserve to remain happy, blissful, fulfilled or successful. The belief “It’s too good to be true,” has destroyed the dreams of virtually all souls at one time or another. As it says in the “Ode to Guilt” at the end of this chapter, “You brought me down when I got too high.” “Too high” means attaining a high state of consciousness without the true understanding necessary to maintain it. If you do not have true understanding, guilt will invade your paradise and turn roses of ecstasy into ashes of despair. 

While Behold a Pale Horse offers a precis of Cooper’s views in the early 1990s, the key document for understanding Cooper’s point of view in later years is simply called “MAJESTYTWELVE.” Cooper states that this was the name of “a set of Top Secret documents” he saw while in the U.S. Navy. MAJESTYTWELVE is an account of how numerous aspects of popular culture, conspiracy culture, religion, and other aspects of life are connected to a shadowy group of elites who have existed since the dawn of recorded history. 

This conspiracy, and the “socialist change agents” that comprise it, are made up of the “highest adepts of the combined total of the so-called fraternal orders and secret societies. They are bound together by blood oaths, a secret religion, and the promise of an elite status within regional government, or the world supra government.” This Illuminati is a quite varied group but they share, according to Cooper, a common spirituality, their religious beliefs encompassing “the Kabbalah, the Luciferian Philosophy, and the worship of the Sun.” The Illuminati is a threat not only to the United States but to every sovereign nation, for “they are not bound by any oath or allegiance save their own. They are loyal to no government or People save their own. And they are Citizens of no country save their already in place secret world government.” To bolster his assertion that this cabal of fiends is truly antithetical the wellbeing of humanity. 

At the highest levels, the leadership of “Freemasonry, Theosophical Society, Anthroposophic Society, Fraternitis Rosae Crucae, Knights Templar, Sovereign and Military Order of the Knights of Malta” and other secret societies are, according to Cooper, part of this Illuminati. Understanding the depth of the philosophy taught by the Illuminati and the “mystery schools” that preceded it is impossible “without many years of study and a complete knowledge of their `symbolic’ language.” But Cooper helpfully offers a simple summary: “Illuminism is COMMUNISM” (capitalization in original). 

Much of Cooper’s significance, however, rested upon his connection of the paranormal and esoteric aspects of conspiracy theory to the far more prosaic realms of right wing extremism in the 1990s such as his involvement in the Militia movement and other related fields such as the so-called tax protest movement. He closes MAJESTYTWELVE with this call to action for his readers:  

Seek out and join a lawful Militia or form one in your area. If you wish to remain Free you will have to fight for it … not because we want to fight, or you want to fight, but because the traitors will give us no choice in the matter. 

Weishaupt developed a plan, and the plan was kept secret within the Illuminati. It was so frightening that even those of the inner circle feared the outcome. Although attendees were sworn to secrecy, the Count de Virieu, a member of the Martinets Lodge at Lyons, was horrified of the secrets he learned while attending the Congress at Wilhelmsbad. When questioned about the secrets revealed there he replied, “I will not confide them to you. I can only tell you that all this is very much more serious then you think. The conspiracy which is being woven is so well thought out that it will be … impossible for the Monarchy and the church to escape from it.” 

 Weishaupt’s plan included putting his handpicked “adepts” in positions of world leadership. A part of his plan also included ridding public institutions of anyone who would oppose him. He thus managed to push all the Jesuits out of Ingolstadt University. ”Through the intrigues of the Brethren the Jesuits have been dismissed from all the Professorships; we have entirely cleared the University of Ingolstadt of them.”26 In addition to that the French Freemasons placed Illuminati into key government positions in France and eventually brought about the bloody French Revolution by deliberately undermining the Bourbon Dynasty of France?’ A respected British Historian, Professor John Robinson, who was also a Freemason, wrote in Proofs of a Conspiracy:  

I have found that the covert secrecy of a Mason Lodge has been employed in every country for venting and propagating sentiments in religion and politics that could not have been circulated in public without exposing the author to grave danger. I have observed these doctrines gradually diffusing and mixing with all the different systems of Free Masonry till, at last, AN ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN FORMED FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF ROOTING OUT ALL OF THE RELIGIOUS ESTABLISHEMENTS, AND OVERTURNING ALL THE EXISTING GOVERNMENTS OF EUROPE. 

The headquarters for Illuminated Freemasonry moved to Frankfurt Germany in 1782, which was controlled by the Rothschild family. It was in Frankfurt that Jews were first admitted to the Freemasons. This may be the link between the occult and high finance. “Remember, the Rothschilds financed Ceil Rhodes in Africa; Lord Rothschild was a member of the inner circle of Rhodes’s English Round Tables; and Paul Warburg, architect of the Federal Reserve System, was a Rothschild agent.”
