Turiya – The God State: Beyond Kundalini

The Shining Ones

Kundalini as a means and outcome of mastering energy is an actual biological process that when observed objectively closely follows its mythic description.

J. C. Cooper defines it as “the serpent which lies coiled at the base of the spine in the chakra known as the muladhara [the Japanese like hara] and which lies dormant until awakened by yogic and spiritual practices when it begins to ascend through the chakras [endocrine glands or Go Dai], bringing increasing powers into play, until it reaches the highest point in total awareness and realization.

It is latent energy; unawakened being; the sleeping serpent power; the primordial shakti [creative female energy] in man. To awaken it is to break the ontological plane and attain the sacred Center: enlightenment. The symbolism of the kundalini is associated with that of the serpent, or dragon, or spine, the world axis.”

Kundalini is a healing energy that is said to lie dormant at the base of the spine in the sacrum bone. Through meditation, it can be awakened. The kundalini is connected directly to human awareness and infinite intelligence.

Through the enlightenment and self-realization gained through meditation, you can awaken the kundalini in the process of balancing the other chakras, concentrating on breathing as it flows to throughout the energy centres of your body.

Becoming clear, awakened, and enlightened through meditation you can attain a new clarity and vision of life; you can see everything from a completely different dimension.

Fundamentally, successful kundalini meditation is to move towards a higher plane of perception; to transform from a limited physical perception to a higher awareness of endless possibilities.

Kundalini is considered to be the microcosmic manifestation of the Goddess within the individual human body. Lying dormant at the base of the spine until awakened, she moves up the spine toward union with Shiva, the masculine aspect of consciousness seated in the crown of the head.

Many Eastern teachers believe the awakening of Kundalini within the human body to be an essential prerequisite of enlightenment. Like the king cobra she is associated with, Kundalini is both magnificent and deadly and must be treated with the utmost respect and caution.

The Indian yogi Gopi Krishna has written a compelling account of his experience with the inadvertently awakened Kundalini, whose tremendous power, like a stray lightning bolt, nearly destroyed his life and burned his body to an ember.

Obviously, a world of difference separates the experience of suddenly awakening Kundalini, who can terrify and blind the devotee with her power, from the experience of gently moving into harmony with the serpentine energies of your body.

All wave movements of the body are manifestations of Kundalini. But the difference between them and the classic kundalini experience is as great as the difference between the voltage of the electric current that illumines a light bulb and the gargantuan power of a lightning bolt.

The arousal of the body’s latent kundalini is often accompanied by violent symptoms of pain, flashing light, sleeplessness, and so on.

Unfortunately, in the West, many people undergoing a kundalini experience are heavily sedated or even institutionalized since the mainstream medical profession has no under-standing of these processes.

Like lightning, Kundalini is not a play-thing but rather, in the words of Gopi Krishna, “the queen and architect of the living organism, having the power to mould it, transform it, or even to destroy it as she will.”

Those paths of spiritual practice that aim at purposefully awakening the Kundalini are among the most dangerous and require the highest degree of skill, purity, and commitment of both teacher and student.

At the same time we should bear in mind that the body is an electro-magnetic system, and Kundalini—as the force that governs its currents—is omnipresent. To speak of a “kundalini experience” is in some ways mis-leading, since our entire life is a kundalini experience.

Kundalini expresses herself through sexuality; kundalini is the force that causes visions and other psychic experiences, making the meditator’s body tremble, go into trance, or dance in ways his conscious mind could never devise.

Kundalini is also the source of the power that flows through a healer’s hands. Kundalini, like electricity, becomes frightening only when she overpowers the body, and even then, if the process can be allowed to run its course, it will in most cases reveal itself as an initiation into higher levels of consciousness.

If golden kundalini isn’t invoked, the red kundalini can be too intense. Where blocked, it will stimulate negative issues within the related chakra.

The golden kundalini softens the red kundalini and provides balance. Paradoxically, radiant kundalini is always present, as it expressed from the center of each chakra, which contains our spiritual truths.

We must recognize our wholeness and enlightenment, however, in order to fully access its effects.

The other two forms of kundalini are the golden kundalini and radiant kundalini.

Golden kundalini guides spiritual energy in from the spiritual realms through our top chakras to spiritualize our system.

Once it has integrated with the red kundalini, which rises upward from the first chakra through the rest of the chakras, the two kundalini energies marry, as does our ability to understand Divine Source and subsequent mental ideals and our physical needs. Radiant kundalini is enlightenment energy.

Upon accepting the unconditional love and grace of Divine Source, it emanates from the center of each chakra, appearing like radiating sun beams. Radiant kundalini usually first opens in the heart upon full acceptance of the Divine’s unconditional love.

The Door to Enter Into Initiation. When these two serpents touch tails, the solar and lunar atoms make contact in the coccyx, near the Triveni.  Then, the Kundalini awakens. The igneous serpent of our magical powers emerges from the membranous pocket where it was enclosed and rises through the spinal canal toward the chalice (the brain).  Certain nerve filaments that connect the seven chakras, or sympathetic plexus, with the spinal column, branch out from the medullar canal. The sacred fire activates the seven magnetic centers

The heart operates outside of time and space because it is connected to the cosmos. As such, it functions similar to the Universe: It moves through spirals, vortices, and portals. The heart can access information through interdimensional means and provide us with answers our minds cannot imagine. The brain is limited by its programming whereas the heart has access to the infinite source of wisdom. Since the human heart generates the largest electromagnetic field of the body, it receives information in the form of electromagnetic signals before the brain. It acts as an information clearinghouse that decides what information is important. Not only is it a clearinghouse for information, it also connects us with the energy of creation, the primal spark that glows within every star or heart

The seventh chakra is located in the pineal gland and is made up of the meeting of the six chakras. It would be a hollow space, on the edges of which there would be a thousand nerves. Sahasrara, the consciousness chakra: When this opens, you become fully aware of pure consciousness as the sole reality and underlying substance of everything in the universe. Sahasrara . Therefore , to awaken the life principle or consciousness from Muladhara and let it merge in Sahasrara has been described as ‘ liberation ‘ by Vedanta

Rising from chakra to chakra, the Kundalini Fire awakens each of them in turn, endowing a person with supernormal forces inherent in the corresponding chakra. In the area of the brain, Kundalini must merge with the highest chakra – Sahasrara – the center of cosmic Consciousness, thereby transforming and transmuting a person into a cosmic Being. When the kundalini reaches the last and highest center, sahasrara chakra (thousand-petaled lotus) in the brain, he becomes perfectly detached from his body and mind and his soul is freed from all limitations caused by time and space

Babylon the mighty is the human body dominated by earthly passions; this is the city that must “fall.” As there are two crucifixions, the first the descent of spirit into incarnation, here referred to as “Sodom and Egypt,” the second the crucifixion of the lower nature that the spiritual self may conquer, so there are two “falls,” the first, the fall of spirit into matter, and the second, the destruction of the lower animal nature that the spiritual man may rise triumphant
